Since January 1st2002, the Brittany Region (Région Bretagne)has taken responsibility for organising the provision of regional passenger transport (TER trains and buses).
It defines the level of service: stop points, KPIs, pricing, passenger information. SNCF operates the TER Bretagne network under an agreement with the Brittany Region.
In total, some 26,000 passengers travel every day (2008 figures) on the daily 300 trains and 65 coaches of TER Britain.
